Within the history of photographic image making it has been claimed that : "You won’t see many of the great masters painting on a square canvas ..... some contemporary photographers even go so far as to claim that the square is so formal, rigid, and unyielding that it’s too difficult to work with effectively for most images". So, hopefully contrary to these claims, I want to show a few of my personal "Square Formats".
